The 2 Wheel Self Balancing Electric Scooter

With the discharge of the newest 2 wheel self balancing electric scooter, 2015 has been a fantastic year for gadget fans. Across the world, everyone is taking to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to write photos and videos of themselves zipping around on this 2 wheel contraption which basically appears to be a board which has a wheel on each side.

A mixture of a skateboard and a segway, this mini Segway (without the handle) type thing is bolstering in popularity, fuelled partly from the level of celebrities which have been seen on one. From Attacking young boys to Soulja Boy, Kendall Jenner to Jamie Foxx, all have tried their hand with this nifty little gadget, and seem to have a large amount of fun doing so.

Nicknamed the ‘swegway’ (because of it’s likeness for the Segway, however a ‘cooler’ version) nobody is sure entirely where this kind of self balancing electric scooter descends from or who invented the first. Probably it descends from some factory in China. The first glimpses we were treated to than it in media were an item referred to as IO Hawk, a scooter that will set you back a stunning $1800. This became back January of 2015. Since that time many cheaper versions of the same product came available on the market as well as the average price right now seems to be around $500.

How can it work? Basically you ascend to both panels and shift your system weight slightly forward or slightly back and yes it senses this bodyweight change and moves backwards or forwards. It can also turn right of left. This self balancing electric scooter is turning out to be quite popular that it is being touted since the personal mobility device for the future. Who wishes to walk when you can glide, right? Plus it’s a lot faster than walking, travelling at speeds of 6mph to 10mph.
