Health and vaccinations

There are no compulsory immunisations required for visitors to Tajikistan but you should be up-to-date with Typhoid, Tetanus Polio and Hepatitis A. Malaria is prevalent in certain areas of Tajikistan therefore we suggest you seek advice from your physician or travel specialist about the appropriate immunisations and preventative treatment.

Tajikistan’s official language is Tajik. Russian is still used routinely for business communication and communications.

A majority of people follow Sunni Islam. A small percentage of people follow the religions of Russian Orthodox, Catholicism and Buddhism.

Drinks and food

This tour concentrates on soups and other meats. In remote areas and at higher elevations, vegetables can be difficult to come by. There is an abundance of dried nuts and dried fruits to taste.

The choices for alcohol are limited to beer or vodka. If you want to try something different – like Scotch or Gin should buy the item duty-free and take it along. It isn’t easy to find mixer drinks , such as tonic water.
