How weddings have changed over the decades! From a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight bridal party members; an easy wedding car to expensive and large wedding cars; three course meals to 6 course meals; one to three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
These are the second, wedding speeches are still an important part of a wedding and guests do anticipate hearing them, referring to them before, during and even after they’ve been delivered.
We know of wedding speeches delivered ahead of the meal, during the meal and after the meal, however it’s of a strong opinion how the groom speech needs to be delivered after the meal. I understand that for a lot of wedding ceremony speakers i.e. Father of the Bride Speech, Father in the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (5 main speakers), they will choose to have the wedding speeches ahead of the meal, to enable them to enjoy their meal (many of them are paying for it!). However, is going on the invited guests and how most of them (and even wedding ceremony venue staff) would rather wedding ceremony speeches to be delivered following your meal for most reasons, some of which include:
The invited guests have been fed and watered and aren’t playing wedding speeches before eating anything (at least of food, which would be so prior to meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival with the wedding venue)
Food may be cooked and served at the agreed time (introduce the marriage speeches ahead of the meal as well as their can be quite a delay of A quarter-hour one.5 hours, driving your kitchen staff crazy always keeping food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding speeches work as the transition in the meal towards the dancing (broke happening following the meal, people are expecting ‘a few words’ being shared regarding the Bride & Groom and they understand they are able to stand up, move around, take a rest, go for a walk, visit the bar…)
It can be hard for moms and dads from the Bride & Groom to talk in public places, the majority of them would not be used from it. So, they can, whenever they so wished, speak prior to the / their meal.
There should nevertheless be some kind of formal wedding speech(es) following the meal…
